new job..new life!
I am job hunting...It's a little discouraging when I have been absent from the workforce for so long while bringing up my daughters. Everyone either wants experience (recent, not 10 years ago!) or the hours don't allow me to be here for Chloe after school or I just don't have the qualifications. I have applied for a couple of sales positions and a lovely lady at a gorgeous local giftware shop has promised to keep me in mind when she opens her new shop in a few weeks. Here's hoping... I need something to get me out of the house and motivated about my life again.
Counselling jobs are rare without experience and to open up in private practice requires $$$ which I don't have at this point in time (that was my original plan!) That will just have to wait a little longer. I have put my name down for voluntary work as well so that I can at least get experience using my counselling skills which will help me gain employment later on.
Becky is doing her final year at school and has decided she wants to go on to university and become a primary school teacher...I am so excited for her because she has finally got the direction and motivation to work hard and is excited about the future. She is great with kids and will make a lovely teacher.
Chloe is in the finals for softball...very exciting! She is also turning 11 in two weeks time. Next Saturday we are having a karaoke/disco party for her. I have got someone coming to do the music and singing with the girls and I am organising a couple of other activities for them to do. Then there's the lolly bags...yummm! I'll probably eat more than they will get!
It's also school holidays here tomorrow...2 weeks of sleeping in, yay!!! I have booked a couple of days away for Chloe and I in a lovely cottage in the lower mountains on the outskirts of Sydney. Bilpin is where the apples are grown and it is a gorgeous area...look forward to some lovely photos. It will be very, very, very cold though...in fact I've been told it's freezing out there, but the cottage looks lovely and cosy and just right for reading books and wataching DVD's and drinking wine.......I might not come back, lol!
I am sorry I haven't caught up too much with your blogs for a while. I am finding it hard to keep on top of things and like I said before...at the moment, it's first things first. I do hope to catch up more in the coming weeks, just a few at a time. I really appreciate you dropping by and keeping in touch. It's lovely to hear from you!
Take care,
Love Nel xo
